A week’s stay in a Pagosa Springs, Colo., condominium will be the top prize at Creative Community Living’s sixth-annual Casino Night fund-raiser.
The event, with a western theme, will begin at 7 p.m. Feb. 23 in the Winfield Community Center at Baden Square. Ticket-holders will receive a bundle of play money to use for blackjack, poker, craps, roulette, bingo and slot machines. The planning committee also hopes to have a Plinko game and a Wheel of Fortune-type game this year. At 10:30, the drawing for the Colorado trip will be held, and everyone who purchased a ticket and is present will be eligible to win. Following the drawing, guests will use the play money they accumulated to bid on items in a live auction. During the evening, there will also be food at no additional cost, a silent auction, raffles, door prizes and grab bags.
Tickets are $20 if purchased in advance or $25 at the door. They are now available at CCL’s offices at 1500 E. Eighth, Winfield. In February, tickets can also be purchased at Dillons in Winfield and Sears in Arkansas City. For more information, please contact Jane Sandbulte at (620) 221-9431 or jsandbulte@cclccl.org.
Casino Night is CCL’s biggest fund-raiser. Many businesses and individuals support the event by donating money or items for prizes; by serving as dealers or in other ways at the event; or by purchasing tickets. You may contact Jane if you wish to help in some way to make Casino Night a success.
All money raised will be used to enhance the lives of the men and women with developmental disabilities who are supported by CCL in Winfield, Arkansas City and El Dorado. It might pay for wheelchair repairs or purchases; unfunded medications or therapy equipment; CCL’s summer camp; recliners for individuals with limited mobility; or even Christmas gifts for individuals who otherwise wouldn’t receive one.
